Overview
Behind the Khojend mountains in Tajikistan, which has been in a state of civil war since the unraveling of the Soviet Union in 1991, lies the state prison 3/13 UIP R.T. More than half of the inmates are innocent women serving time for crimes committed by their husbands or sons. The power of money determines the course of law in a society where men are valued more than women.
